Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the cowardly attack on senior journalist and anchorperson Sami Ibrahim who was attacked, manhandled and beaten in Islamabad, when he was going back home from BOL TV office.
Reportedly unknown plainclothes persons tried to kidnapped Sami Ibrahim, however, they failed in their nefarious design.
PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi in a statement said, “this is a cowardly act of those who cannot face constructive criticism and have dictatorial and authoritarian mindset”.
They called for immediate registration of FIR against the unknown culprits. “We demand arrest of the criminals without any delay as this cannot be tolerated,” they urged.
PFUJ leadership said that high-handedness and such incidents cannot silence the sane voices in this country and PFUJ will take much tougher stand, if the attackers of Sami Ibrahim are not brought to justice.
