PFUJ welcomes PM’s order to withdraw FIA’s petition against IHC judgment

ISLAMABAD, May 7, 2022: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s order to Federal Investigation Agency to withdraw its petiton filed in the Supreme Court against Section 20 of PECA Act 2016. In a statement, PFUJ’s President and Secretary General urged the government to hold an urgent meeting of the Joint Action Committee for the review of PECA Act 2016 as committed by Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb. They believe to have cordial media- govt relations, dialogue is the only solution for ensuring right of expression and press freedom.
